WEB DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
Yoram Roth is a fine art photographer based in Berlin, Germany, who reached out to have his original website optimized for handheld devices. Based on the original code base, I decided that a complete re-built would be in everyone's best interest.
The most challenging element of the website was an intricate "project detail view" interface, in which detail shots of each art piece were loaded vertically inside a horizontal slideshow.
This allowed me to create a grid of images of each artwork, without overloading the visitor with detail shots (those become visible only in the project detail view).
The end result features another complex "lazy load" mechanism which delays loading of high quality images until they become visible in the viewport of the browser, speeding up performance of the site and enhancing the user experience.
